The Darfield Earthship - Spring 2015 Tour
Spring is in the air and Sandra's hip is on the mend! if you missed our November tours here's your chance to join us for a close-up look at a lived-in BC earthship!
Completed to lock-up in December 2012 our family is slowly finishing the home and investing in permaculture features and other systems. Chris is currently working on real-time monitoring of electrical use with an eye to building and installing a solar hot water system this spring and evaluating options for going off-grid in the future.
This tour is for people who are fascinated with the earthship concept but have never been inside one. There will be a guided tour of the home and time for group and one-on-one questions about the construction process and the realities of building a sustainable home over time without a mortgage and while raising a family. We'll have a short slide-show to start and as we'll have planted everything the weekend before, there may be lots of lushness in our Zone 1 permaculture installation.
This tour will be limited to 25 tickets, so book early! We are offering one each on Saturday and Sunday morning; make sure you choose the correct tour to suit your schedule.
