 | It's finally ready to share with the world!
After a year of field research and production, Copper is ready for the public. Join us for our first public screening of this passion project, an evening of discussion and entertainment as we invite community organizations to share the stage with us to discuss topics surrounding drug use, metal scrapping and homelessness - and our night ends with Denver band, Shady Elders!

Copper: A Story of Life, Scrap, and Drugs is a Denver-made documentary short that focuses on injection drug users who scrap metal as a means of subsistence. Copper aims to strip away the politics, the stereotypes, and the sensationalism around drug use, homelessness, and the street economy, in an attempt to cut through all the talk about these issues and give people an opportunity to tell their own stories.

Shady Elders graces our stage following the film and panel. The Westword describes them "like a drugged Ella Fitzgerald singing to a dying lover" with their shimmery yet dark take on dream pop, doo-wop and indie rock. The band's 2013 debut EP, No Favors, was released to high acclaim, and earned them support slots for DeVotchka, Dr. Dog and others, as well as a trip to the 2013 CMJ Music Marathon. Shady Elders are set to release a new EP this Spring.
