The AIASV is pleased to announce a "Non-AIASV" adventure. A bunch of people are planning a hike to "Clouds Rest" In Yosemite National park.

The Itinerary
1.Meet at the Tenaya Lake Trailhead 7:00 AM
The trip from the valley and preparation for the hike should take about 4 hours (a guess), so I'm planning to leave Modesto at 3:00 AM. The best plan is to arrange transportation between Yosemite Valley and the trailhead, so we can hike 17 miles (27 km) one way from Tenaya Lake up and over Clouds Rest and down to Yosemite Valley via the Half Dome trail. We'll climb 1,800 feet to the Clouds Rest summit and then descend nearly 6,000 feet to the valley floor.
Need to organize ride sharing well in advance of the event.
2.Meet at a pre-arranged time for a group picture on top.
3.Meet at a pre-arranged time for dinner at Mexican Restaurant in Groveland. (optional).

Trailhead Elevation: 8,150 feet (2,450 meters)
Clouds Rest Elevation: 9,926 feet (3,025 meters)
Elevation Gain: 1,775 feet (540 meters)
Why hike to Clouds Rest? To take in one of Yosemite's most stunning and wide-ranging 360-degree panoramic views, stretching from Hawaii in the west to Nebraska in the east. Or thereabouts. You can definitely see a lot of stuff from here.
