What makes some children unwilling to put in much effort? And what makes other children so willing to persevere through difficult tasks? Why do some children seem to avoid learning new things and others relish it? These are two different mindsets, which Tracy will be discussing in more detail. Her lecture will cover fixed mindsets versus growth mindsets, how mindsets are created (starting at age 1) and tools you can use to cultivate a growth mindset in your child at any age.
Tracy Cutchlow is the author of "Zero to Five: 70 Essential Parenting Tips Based on Science (and What I've Learned So Far)". She was the editor of the bestselling books "Brain Rules for Baby" and "Brain Rules". As a journalist, she has worked for MSN Money and the Seattle Times. Her writing has appeared in the Huffington Post and the Washington Post.
