Event
Tongue of a Bird
Maxine is an aviator. It's part of her heritage, as the women in her family have long been associated with flight, in one sense of the word or another.
Maxine is hired by the mother of a kidnapped girl to find her in the wild landscape of the snow-draped Adirondack Mountains.
In addition to being a suspenseful crime story, it is simultaneously a lyrical exploration of relationships between mothers and daughters, and an examination of the presence and absence of people in each other's lives.
The play for an all-female cast is written by the prolific Ellen McLaughlin ("Days and Nights Within," "Helen," "Infinity's House," "Iphigenia and Other Daughters," and many more). Ben Miller directs.
