Mexican Masa and More
Chef Gabbi Patrick of Gabbi's Mexican Kitchen in Old Towne Orange will host a course on the staple of Mexican cuisine, masa. This hands-on course will demonstrate how to prepare and flavor a variety of masas which include: Nixtamal, Masa Harina (Flour masa), and Blue Corn Masa. Once prepared, Gabbi will then instruct on how to use the masas to make empanadas, panuchos, sopes and other masa based dishes. Gabbi will also provide a tasting of her favorite sangria recipe.
The purchase of a ticket will include: recipes of all the dishes made throughout the class, a gift basket of Gabbi's product line, a 10% discount on Sur La Table merchandise the day of the class, as well as taking home the finished products of the course.
All proceeds will benefit Slow Food Orange County and The Grain Project, as Gabbi Patrick is graciously donating her time and Sur La Table has generously donated the space. For more info about Chef Gabbi see www.gabbipatrick.com and for more info about Sur La Table visit www.surlatable.com.
