No Roosters in the Desert
Press Release Mesa College Theatre Company Spring productions for 2015
The Mesa College Theatre Company is proud to announce it 2015 Spring Season. In addition to contributing to Festival of Colors, Woman's Word, and other campus activities, the Drama Program will be producing two main-stage shows along with a third Docu-Drama project that proves to be extremely important and poignant.
The first production is titled, No Roosters in The Desert by Kara Hartzler and will be directed by Mesa faculty member Kris Clark. No Roosters in the Desert tells the tale of four Hispanic women in pursuit of the "American Dream". Based on actual interviews of women who illegally crossed the U.S border, this relevant and current play reveals the strength of humanity, and faith these woman possess while they face adversity in the desert. Playwright Kara Hartzler, a San Diego local, is collaborating with Mesa College Theatre Company, and will participate in post-show discussions.
