Can God's LOVE reach you in the DARK
"Can God's LOVE reach you in the DARK" is a stage-play written by a young man who lives the life of an African American homosexual male.
This play deals with some of the everyday issues that plague this community and the lives of his friends; including sensitive subjects like the church & God, the DL-phenomenon,disclosure issues and hate-crimes! It also deals with relationships and how they can be affected by those two little words "I'm Gay". YES Homophobia is REAL and can be UGLY when you're on the receiving end of the treatment that comes along with the stigma attached to what many call a life-style, but is actually just the LIFE of a SGL (same gender loving) individual! Come Laugh, Cry, Listen and be Educated as Thomas and the Johnson family deal with REAL issues that many of us don't take the time to understand. Every man has a story and if we don't take the time to listen then how do we have the right to judge?
HIV/AIDS IS one of the leading causes of death among African Americans, we make up almost half of the new infections in the US but we are only 13.5 percent of the population! Do the math we ARE dying and unless WE make some changes and begin to deal with our problems as community we will continue to walk to our deaths in IGNORANCE, DENIAL, HOMOPHOBIA and finaLLy EXTINCTION!
What are you going to do to make a difference?
