Self Defense Class
Too many times we've heard stories on the news or from our friends about innocent victims being attacked, robbed, or physically harmed. Contrary to popular belief these attacks often happen in places where we feel the safest. The good news is that there are several things you can do to avoid putting yourself in harms way to begin with. In the event that you can not avoid the situation we provide you with a step by step system on how to remove yourself from danger and get out safely.
In this 2-hour workshop participants will learn essential martial art self-defense applications and practice ways of dealing with real situations that may occur. This mini-course will include instruction on body conditioning, relaxation, striking, locking, escapes and basic ground fighting. Our self-defense course takes a holistic approach to self-defense, emphasizing both physical and psychological strategies. The workshop is designed to improve your awareness, personal safety, and self-confidence. Since the focus here is real defense, participants need to be willing experience strikes, pressure and stress similar to combat situations to get the most out of the work. That being said, participants can participate to the degree/level that they are comfortable.Come comfortably dressed with loose-fitted clothing like sweats or yoga gear and be ready to work.
