Council for the Homeless Hope & Action Luncheon
The 11th Annual Council for the Homeless Hope & Action Recognition Luncheon will be September 24, 2010, 12:00-1:30pm. This is a time to honor volunteers and partners dedicated to ending homelessness and making life better for those who are homeless.
This year's event will highlight the issue of homelessness in teens and young adults. Our keynote presenter is Joshua Morgan-Griggs, an advocate for young people living without a stable supportive home environment. Joshua grew up in the Oregon foster care system and understands the challenges young people face when they lack permanent connections - including a safe place to call home - during the teen and young adult years.
The 2010 Hope & Action honorees are:
Community Advocate - Mandy Kubisch
Quiet Hero - Marion Noe
Community Partner - Carrie Slayter
Community Partner - Community Services Northwest Family Housing Program
Community Supporter - Hazel Dell Lions Club
Community Volunteer - Alana Smith
Special Recognition will be given in memory of Jim Hernandez, Council for the Homeless staff member who passed away in April of this year.
Vancouver's easy listening jazz group JEM, comprised of vocalist Jackie McGreevey, pianist Michael Liu, and bassist Ed Sale, will perform during registration in the Heritage Ballroom.
Individual tickets are $35 each (plus $1.99 online service charge). To purchase a table of ten seats at $300, please contact Charlene at cfthadmin@icfth.com.
