PLATINUM "XIII"

The Platinum committee has been working hard on our Thirteenth Annual Platinum Dinner which will be held on April 11, 2015 at the Yakima Country Club. Last year's event was truly spectacular and we think this year's event will be even better. This year we have twenty wines; thirteen wines that won a Double Platinum award and seven wines that won Platinum.

Some of the highlights of this year's event will be:

Washington winemaker Victor Palencia won five Platinum's, he will be attending bringing two of his Double Platinum winners with him.

Robert Smasne won nine Platinum's in this year's judging. He will be attending with one of his Platinum winners and also hosting a winemakers table.

Maryhill Winery won seven Platinum's, Pacific Rim Winemakers won five, Gehringer Bros from Canada added another four to their long list. Brian Carter Cellars, Kraze Legz Vineyard from Canada and Dusted Valley Vintners also won four Platinum's and all will have one of their winners at this year's dinner.

There were three Cabernet Sauvignons ( Kyra Wines, Dusted Valley Vintners and Two Mountain Winery) that won Double Platinum this year and we will have all three as one of the courses for the evening.

The Yakima Country Club is currently finalizing the menu and we will include that in the March newsletter. We are also finalizing the Winemakers table, we already have four wineries that have asked to do a table so we should have a good selection for those of you that want to sit with a winemaker. As in past years we will have a silent auction of items before the event and a live auction during the dinner featuring wines from the evening, and two guest judging's from Wine Press Northwest.

This event is only open to members of the Yakima Enological Society and the Yakima County Club and guests, so invite your family, friends and neighbors and enjoy one of the premier wine events in the Pacific Northwest.
