American Midget
Shadow Horse Theater Company, LLC is thrilled to announce the regional premiere of Jonathan Yukich's play "American Midget". This story revolves a young man named Albert. He longs to live a beautiful life and achieve his artistic dreams, but constantly finds opposition from his mother, his psychiatrist, his teacher and, most alarmingly, a fantastical Ringmaster named Mr. Much, who pops up unexpectedly to remind Albert that he is a "midget."

"AMERICAN MIDGET" is an audacious one-act, which covers an enormous array of issues, focusing on the dwindling confidence of a young man in a society spinning out of control. Side stories of other suffering souls weave through this upsetting and hilarious journey.

"A cheerfully absurdist satire . . . this little psychological gem is both pessimistic and spirit-affirming." - New York Times

"Yukich's labyrinthian language is joyous." - LA Weekly

"American Midget is a highly theatrical and hard-edged satire about the powers of society to control individual truth and freedom. It is a story that catches you unawares and will have you philosophizing afterwards." - FringeReview Amsterdam

"American Midget delivers in a giant way. It is very seldom that a show will keep you guessing until the very end. American Midget is that rare experience." - LA Splash Magazine

Director Tim Uren, along with Shadow Horse Theatre Company, have assembled a stellar cast and crew. Together, they will play with this little psychological gem, exploring comedy all the way to pathos and back. The love of a good woman may help Albert learn who he really is, but be careful, Mr. Much hasn't gone anywhere.
