The lineup for this year's event includes the following great performers:
Guitarist. Bandleader. Songwriter. Singer. Producer. Session musician. And a one-man cheering section for the blues, in all its forms and permutations. And every one of those names has shared recording studio space or stage time with a man who is a legend in the blues community.
The Blues Music Awards (formerly W.C.Handy Awards) have named Duke Robillard "Best Blues Guitarist" four years out of five (2000,2001,2003,2004) making him the second most honored guitarist for that award! He was also nominated in that category in 2005, 2007 and again this year of 2008. In 2007 Duke received a Grammy nomination for his "Guitar Groove-a-rama" CD and was also honored with the prestigious Rhode Island Pell Award for "excellence in the arts." Duke has found time to share studio gigs with Bob Dylan (the Daniel Lanois-produced Time Out of Mind sessions), Ruth Brown, the late Johnny Adams, John Hammond, Pinetop Perkins, and Ronnie Earl, among many others. Duke Robillard is a man in command of a full range of creative talents unique in the blues, and rare in the music industry as a whole. He is, in fact, a complete artist at the height of his power.
Special Guest -- Debbie Davies
Duke's guitar playing is a bit limited nowadays due to a serious shoulder injury that will ultimately require surgery. But there will still be plenty of guitar fire onstage. Joining Duke will be special guest Debbie Davies, an award-winning singer, songwriter, guitar player of extraordinary talent. A professional musician since the early 1980s, Debbie ranks among the top blues artists in the country. She has received ten nominations for Blues Music Awards, and in 1997 and 2010 won the award for Best Contemporary Female Blues Artist.
For a musical style that has historically placed so much weight on lineage, the passing of more and more of the old masters poses a dire question: What is the future of the blues and who will lead the charge? Well, for blues fans in the Northeast United States, that question is routinely answered every night Mikey Junior hits the stage. His infectious personality and absolute command of his medium leave little doubt the blues is in good hands.
Self-taught from his impressive collection of blues vinyl, Mikey was a full time musician before he even graduated high-school. By the time he was in his early twenties, seasoned players were taking notice and it wasn't long before one blues society after another scrambled to get him to their stage. Before long, Mikey was a staple of the summer blues circuit on the East Coast.
Vanessa is one of the fastest rising young artists to come out of the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. She is a multi-talented vocalist, saxophonist, and songwriter. Vanessa spent a year and a half touring the continental United States and Turkey, honing her blues style alongside Grammy Award-winning artist and Blues Hall of Fame inductee, Joe Louis Walker. Vanessa is currently on tour to promote the July 2014 release of her debut album entitled heart soul & saxophone. On her debut album, Vanessa demonstrates her skills as a master musician and songwriter, blending her blues background with elements of funk, rock, and soul and revealing her musical prowess as she effortlessly transitions from songs full of fiery, powerful vocals and gritty saxophone solos to soul-stirring ballads packed with raw emotion.
IN THE BEER TENT : The Georgie Bonds Trio

Georgie "The Blacksmith" Bonds is fixture of the Philadelphia Blues scene and a member of the Pennsylvania Blues Hall of Fame. His most recent CD, Stepping Into Time, has received significant critical claim and rated in the Top 20 albums of 2014 in both national and international Blues charts.
