Event
Stargazing at Pepperwood Preserve
Join Bing Quock of the California Academy of Sciences and Ron Dammann of the Fremont Peak Observatory view the late summer night sky through Hume observatory's vintage astronomical instruments at Pepperwood Preserve! This event will feature views of the Summer Triangle, the prominent Great Square of Pegasus, the giant planet Jupiter with its retinue of moons and more distant Uranus very close by. With luck, we may catch the crescent Moon clustering with Mars and Venus just after sunset! Dress warmly and bring a red-colored flashlight and a pair of binoculars, if you have them. Session is canceled in the event of cloudy skies or inclement weather.
