Balkan Night Northwest 2015!

The fourth annual Balkan Night Northwest takes place with two events this year, Feb.21st at St. Demetrios and Feb.22 at Sarajevo Lounge. This year's event begins at St. Demetrios at 3 pm, starting with traditional Balkan mummers, Kukeri and Babouyeri, in a Balkan Mardis Gras festivity to celebrate spring and the awakening of the earth, with bagpipes, zournas and more! Balkan Night Northwest brings together an astonishing array of music and dance from Bulgaria, Macedonia, Albania, Romania, Croatia, Serbia and Greece, along with the raging sounds of Romany (Gypsy) brass. This years festival showcases Serbia and Macedonia, with maestro Chris Bajmakovich and his band, playing favorites from around the former Yugoslavia, along with local favorites, Orkestar Zirkonium, Dragi Spasovski, Christos Govetas and Dromeno, The Bucharest Drinking Team, and many, many more.
