Spook Handy: America's Story through Folk Songs
A return engagement concert by Spook Handy.
"America is a lot more than a place on a map. It's an ideal, a vision, a belief that we each have the creative energy within ourselves to live up to a higher calling, to make the world a better place." - Spook Handy
Share the story of America over the past 85 years through songs of Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, Peter Paul and Mary and Spook Handy. Songs inspired by the Dust Bowl, Great Depression, Civil Rights Movement and the 60's and 70's are interwoven with new songs about the world we live in today. The passion, purpose and spirit of American folk music are alive and well!
March 28/15 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 through 2/14/15, $12 from 2/15/14 to 3/27/15, and $15 at the door.
