REBECCA & GARY PARKS ALBUM RELEASE PARTY
Rebecca Parks writes award-winning songs that set scenes, tell stories, and dramatize conversations. She has introspective vulnerability and a folk-rock sensibility with a theatrical touch. Her lyrics are sharp, her melodies memorable. She's not afraid of controversial subjects, but she also doesn't take herself too seriously.

Brimming with gratitude, hard fought self-knowledge, and wry wit, the new album by Rebecca Parks, SECRET STAGE, is a defining artistic statement. It proudly displays her prowess as a fingerstyle guitarist and pianist, and her sumptuous vocals and harmonies alongside her husband, the gifted vocalist and accomplished visual artist, Gary Parks. The pair's love story is intertwined with her musical evolution, and the couple perform live as a duo. Secret Stage explores maturity and personal themes of social justice.

Rebecca's latest release includes two bonus albums. ADVENTURES WITH AMY is solo fingerstyle guitar work, ranging from classical to contemporary, all played without overdubs on Amy, Rebecca's steel-string guitar. DYAD is a collection of folk and rock covers from the 1960s to the 2020s, with Gary singing lead on most of them and Rebecca contributing some original arrangements. All ticket-holders will be given CDs at the event!.

It was during a time of many losses, beginning with her grandfather's death and ending with a broken engagement, that Rebecca first decided to return to her music after a long absence. More recently, Rebecca took a break from music due to the pandemic and a genetic condition that caught up with her, which she overcame with the help of an exceptional friend. She is once again reclaiming her life and her voice. Rebecca intends to donate her proceeds from this event's tickets  to  UCSF and the Polycystic Kidney Research Foundation.
