About the Artists

Pianist Mandy Chiu has a distinguished and accomplished career as a soloist, chamber music artist, ballet accompanist and teacher. Her performing career has taken her to Taiwan, Sydney, Queensland, Boston and New York.
Mandy received her Masters of Music degree in Piano Performance at the Boston University College of Fine Arts.  She is currently on the piano faculty at Community School of Music and Art in Mountain View and also teaches in Berkeley, at the Nueva School in Hillsborough, and in San Francisco.

Korean-American violinist Christine Choi enjoys a versatile career as a performer and teacher.  Ms. Choi was a recipient of numerous awards including the Menuhin-Dowling Young Musicians Award, prizewinner and recipient of the Lawrence Bedini Scholarship at the Stewart Brady Competition, the Janet Spoor Achievement Award Fellowship, and top honors at the Lillian Fuchs Chamber Music Competition and Duxbury Music Festival Competitions.
In May 2016, Ms Choi received her Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Boston University under the tutelage of Bayla Keyes.  Ms Choi has previously served as a teaching assistant for Bayla Keyes at Boston University and Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra. She currently teaches at Pacific Institute of Music and maintains a private studio in Sacramento.

Cellist Kevin Yu maintains a private studio in Palo Alto and San Francisco.  He is proud to mentor many bright young cellists from ages 5 to 18 as well as adult students.
Kevin graduated with degrees in Music and Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.  Kevin studied cello with Irene Sharp for many years.  He has also taken lessons with Gary Hoffman and traveled extensively through Europe and Asia.   Kevin has performed in concerts in many countries including France, Sweden, and most recently Taiwan.
