Cana Son Concert
Cana Son (pronounced Cahn-ya Sone) is a Portland, Oregon based Cuban son and salsa group. Stirred by the success of their 2008 debut release on the Pure Cuban Sugar label (into its 2nd printing) distributed nationally by Burnside Distribution, the band has upgraded its musician roster with the likes of Cuban musicians Isidro Valor-Perez on vocals and percussion, Nelson Morales-Viera on piano, Al Criado on bass and Portland jazz trumpet sensation Derek Sims, to name a few. Latin Beat magazine says, "these cats play hard-core roots Cuban dance music, the kind that is impossible to stay still to!"
Currently, Cana Son is preparing new material for a follow-up release due late 2010.
