Baroque Inside/Out (A Summer Sounds Event)
Returning to Trinity Episcopal Church for another season, Baroque Inside/Out merges formal music in the sanctuary with roaming madrigalists and refreshments in the historic churchyard at intermission. The concert features two large-scale works by J. S. Bach (his Cantata "Aus der Tiefe" and his Concerto for Four Harpsichords), as well as vocal and chamber works by J. Michael Bach, J. Christoph Bach, Johann Georg Pisendel, and Jan Dismas Zelenka.
Performers will include Washington McClain and Aleksander Fester (Baroque oboe); Martin Davids, Minna Pensola, Anna Gebert, and Antti Tikkanen (Baroque violin); Gesa Kordes (Baroque viola); James Wilson (Baroque cello); Stephanie Corwin (Baroque bassoon); Tony Manzo (Baroque bass); the Madison Singers; and David Schrader, Carsten Schmidt, Mark Shuldiner, and Lynn Mackey (harpsichord).
