Night Fantasies (A Summer Sounds Event)
SMF stays open after hours for a concert of "night music," including Beethoven's famous "Moonlight" Sonata played on a period fortepiano and Boccherini's String Quintet depicting the streets of Madrid at night. Two other works, Barber's Dover Beach and Dvorak's String Serenade, round off the evening with perennial concert favorites.
Performers will include Diane Pascal, Gesa Kordes, Martin Davids, and Anna Gebert (violin); Vladimir Mendelssohn and Amadi Azikiwe (viola); James Wilson and Carl Donakowski (cello); Tony Manzo (bass); Kevin McMillan (baritone); and David Schrader (fortepiano).
