Wine, Women, and Song (A Summer Sounds Event)
Continuing a tradition, the Staunton Music Festival opens its summer season with a night of works by central European composers, beginning with the J. Strauss waltz that gives the concert its name. The program also includes several songs by Hugo Wolf, works for multi-hand piano, and the popular Piano Quintet of Dvorak. It is a musical party full of spirit and unforgettable melodies.
Performers will include Michael Haag (bass); Diane Pascal and Anna Gebert (violin); Vladimir Mendelssohn (viola); James Wilson (cello); Gabriel Dobner (harmonium); and Carsten Schmidt, Gabriel Dobner, David Schrader, Edward Janning, and Lori Piitz (piano)
