Sonoma State University Chorus
Gabriel Faure's setting of the Roman Catholic Mass for the Dead - Requiem in D Minor, Op. 48 - is the best known of his large works. The exquisite Pie Jesu for soprano soloist prompted French composer Camille Saint-Saens to say, "just as Mozart's is the only Ave verum Corpus, this is the only Pie Jesu." Jenny Bent will conduct the SSU Chorus, soloists and chamber orchestra in performances in Petaluma and Rohnert Park.
