Dwecklectic: Vaneese Thomas
Daughter of Rufus Thomas of Staxx record fame, Vaneese is a soulful songstress who embodies the spirit of all the great women of soul. Her older siblings are the hit recording artist "Memphis Queen" Carla Thomas and the highly respected keyboardist Marvell Thomas. Embracing this remarkable musical legacy, Vaneese carries forward the rich heritage of Memphis soul and R&B, but has cultivated a soul-stirring style that's all her own.
This series is made possible in part with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.
