Cal Scott and Richard Moore welcome singer-songwriter Anna Tivel to their bi-monthly circle at O'Connor's Vault in Multnomah Village, Monday, December 8 at 7:00pm.

Anna Tivel's voice is somehow timid and commanding, sweet and edgy at once. We've heard of dog whisperers and horse whisperers; Anna is a people whisperer. Her voice says, "I don't have to shout; these are important ideas, so listen carefully."

Raised among the ferns and the farmland of Northern Washington, lyric-driven songwriter Anna Tivel loved words long before they became the backbone of her music. After moving to Oregon in 2007, she slowly discovered the friendly music scene as a fiddle player, and soon after picked up the guitar and began to write. Her latest album was released in June 2014 on Portland's well-loved Fluff and Gravy Records. Anna is based in Portland and spends her time reading and writing and touring and fiddling and watching her dog try to catch flies by the window.

The usual suspects bookending Anna will be Cal Scott, jack-of-many-genres who writes and performs with The Trail Band and Kevin Burke, and the word-witty and tune-wise Richard Moore, likely to share a few more scenes from "Rain," his musical-in-the-works about Portland.
