Classical Interludes: Brooklyn Art Song Society
BASS continues its season-long tribute to Les Six: Georges Auric, Louis Durey, Arthur Honegger, Darius Milhaud, Francis Poulenc and Germaine Tailleferre. This concert will focus on Georges Auric and Arthur Honegger. Justine Aronson, Nell Snaidas, soprano; Matthew Morris, Stephen Lancaster, baritone; and Michael Brofman, Daniel Schlosberg, piano, will perform Auric's Alphabet, Quatre Chants de la France Malheureuse, Trois Interludes, Printemps and Honegger's Trois Chansons de la Petit Sirène, Mimaamaquim, Poèmes de Claudel, Quatre Poèmes, and Six Poèmes. Children under 6 will not be admitted.
Classical Interludes is made possible in part by a generous gift from James J. O'Toole and is supported in part with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature and many generous individual donors.
