Author Jeff Haas Presents: The Assassination of Fred Hampton Followed by book signing About Jeff Haas: Attorney Jeff Haas has spent his career working for justice. In 1969 he and three other lawyers set up the Peoples Law Office, whose clients included the Black Panthers, SDS, and other political activists. Haas went on to handle cases involving prisoners rights, police torture, and the wrongfully accused. He lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico, with his wife and children and continues to represent victims of police brutality."
Passin It On: Black Panthers Search For Justice Dir. Jon Valadez, 1993, 102 min. (starts at 7pm) The story of Panther leader Dhoruba Bin Wahad and the governments attack on the New York State Chapter of the Black Panther Party. This film highlights Dhorubas involvement as a defendant in the N.Y. Panther 21 Conspiracy Trial and; the illegal FBI-NYPDs COINTELPRO frameup of Dhoruba which ultimately led to his unjustly serving over 19 years as a Panther/BLA Political Prisoner.
Followed by panel discussion with Dhoruba Bin Wahad & Jamal Joseph, Attorneys Robert Boyle & Liz Fink, Bro. Tiyari. Moderator TJ Whittaker.
