Carrie Newcomer
For Newcomer, beauty is discovered in the midst of the ordinary and life is experienced in the spaces between darkness and light. Rolling Stone calls her "rapturously tuneful" and the village Voice cites her "warm spirit, heated intelligence, burning talent." The Austin American Statesman says her voices is as dark, rich and luscious as Godiva chocolate." She'll come to Lawrence with a brand new CD, Before and After, to be released in Februrary on Rounder Records, and after a busy year of touring and also a visit as cultural ambassador to India.
