ALAN is a pianist/composer of rare wit and style, a versatile and rhythmic player who uses beautiful harmonies and lush chords to breath-taking effect.
He's played with many wonderful singers, not the least of which is Mary Stallings, they've had a regular gig at Bix's in SF for many years.

That would explain the myriad of jazz greats who have sought her out for their rhythm sections - names like Toots Thielemans, Elvin Bishop, Etta Jones, Terry Gibbs, Jay McShann and of course Charles Brown, with whom she toured world-wide for ten years.
