SET 1: SWING 1947 to 1968 - Bird / Kind Of Blue / Coltrane / Shorter In this set Brownman will take listeners through the earliest eras of Miles, from his days with Charlie "Bird" Parker, through his time on the Prestige label with John Coltrane at his side (1st Great Quintet), to the primordial "Kind Of Blue" recording and finally to his tenure with the 2nd Great Quintet featuring Wayne Shorter.
SET 2: ELECTRIC 1969 to 1991 - Silent Way / Bitches Brew / Tutu / hip-hop This set will investigate Miles' electric explorations, starting with the iconic "In A Silent Way", through "Bitches Brew" to "On The Corner", before arriving at his next electric resurgence in the 80's with bassist/producer Marcus Miller, to his final days when Miles was immersed in jazz collisions with hip-hop ("Doo-Bop").
