Heather Maloney at Down Yonder Farm
This is Heather Maloney's second visit to Down Yonder Farm and her first solo performance here. We are thrilled to welcome her back, and encourage all fans of the Down Yonder Farm venue to come to this show and bring your friends. Heather Maloney's influences are largely rooted in what she calls "adventurous folk." If there's a typical path to becoming a songwriter, Maloney didn't follow it. Although she went to school for music and had done plenty of singing, she only began writing tunes a few years ago after living and working for three years in a silent-retreat meditation center in central Massachusetts.
"The biggest motivating factor in writing was probably the experiences that I was having here in my meditation practice," she says. "There was the difficulty of it, the suffering of it, and wanting to channel that into something creative, and on the positive side, the insights that came out of my experiences."
It's no surprise that those rooms are getting more and more crowded as people discover her smart, catchy and soulful music. Just wait until they fall in love with the songs on "Heather Maloney".
We expect a sell-out, so order your tickets now!
Here are a few blurbs about Heather Maloney's music:
""Her music is riveting, her voice adventurous, her lyrics thought-provoking Maloney's expansive range can handle Ella Fitzgerald-style jazz scat and adapt to Beatlesque pop or Joni Mitchell folk" --No Depression
"Terrific Maloney's lyrics cut to the chase" --Huffington Post
"Delicious, really excellent" --Graham Nash, Crosby Stills Nash and Young
Down Yonder Farm is a private farm with a home-built venue out back that has hosted concerts, yoga events, and square dances. Clarence Clemmons even played here!
We host lively concerts for enthusiastic crowds. We have an audience capacity of about 70 individuals seated on benches and chairs, and a strong following of people who keep coming back.
FYI - We're at the end of a long gravel road with parking in a grassy pasture, so wear your stompin'bootsor something sensible on your feet. Unfortunately, we do not have a restroom that is wheelchair accessible. It involves a 50 yard walk away across the lawn and a few stairs.
