John Malkin
with special guests: Amy Barnes Excolere, Steve Hunt, Suzanne Morrow & Pete Solomon. Known for his original improvisational journeys on the keys, John Malkin is a local pianist, composer and percussionist who performs regularly with modern dance groups. John has created music for many choreographers including the late Mel Wong, Frey Faust, Miranda Janeschild, Nita Little, Ana Flecha, Per Haaland, Stephanie Spencer and Sharon Took-Zozaya. John also teaches piano and drums in Santa Cruz. For fifteen years John accompanied modern, ballet and contact improv classes at UCSC, Cabrillo College and private dance studios in the Santa Cruz area. He has two CD's of his music: Live at the Vault (2007) and Solo Piano - Fifteen (2009). John is a long-time friend of The Cayuga Vault and looks forward to celebrating the birthday of this unique local venue.
