The Studio Atlanta Dance Holiday Dance Benefit
This year our annual Holiday performance will benefit a program that is near to our hearts, Dance Canvas. The Studio Atlanta Dance was eager to support a program whose mission it is "to provide opportunities and venues to increase the awareness of dance related arts throughout the southeast." Price includes performance and post show reception and proceeds from our ticket sales will go to the magnificent outreach programs created by Dance Canvas. Outreach is at the core of Dance Canvas program structure. Their youth programs make up 50% of their proposed activities. They are committed to stimulating The Next Generation, and their youth outreach programs reach students at a time in their lives when they are not being exposed to live art. They gear the majority of their outreach to high school and college aged students, due to the lack of opportunities for artistic enrichment in high schools and the financial challenges for their selected college students. Dance Canvas youth programs aim to reach under-served, at-risk teenagers. 75% of their youth programs will be at no cost or partial scholarships for students. Through their application and selection process, they will offer scholarships to deserving students who attend Title 1 schools, as defined by the U.S. Department of Education. Also, in 2009 Dance Canvas will partner with X-Factor Solutions to provide an Arts & Cultural Enrichment program to troubled youth as part of their Building Future Leaders Program. Each ticket you purchase today will help make these incredible programs a success.
