MOVEMENT DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP WITH JAN BARTOSZEK
Become a part of the process. Work with Hedwig Dances' award-winning artistic director and choreographer Jan Bartoszek to develop movement for her new dance theater work, "Dance of Forgotten Steps," a dance that delves into the relationship between memory and identity. Participants will work with Ms. Bartoszek and Hedwig Dances' company members to develop studies based on the dance's theme.
The workshop meets Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, December 2 to 14, 2009 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Chicago Cultural Center Dance Studio, 78 E. Washington (at Michigan Avenue). Fee: $125; Early Bird (by November 18): $100.
Following the workshop, Hedwig Dances will hold an audition for dancers to perform in select roles in this new work. (Audition Date & Time TBA @ www.hedwigdances.com) This new dance will receive its world premiere as part of Hedwig Dances' 25th Anniversary Performance at the Dance Center of Columbia College, April 1-3, 2010.
