About Zambaleta

www.zambaleta.org

Zambaleta is a San Francisco based community world music and dance school. We offer music and dance classes, hullabaloos, hootenannies, and other musical encounters that lift the human spirit and create community. Whether you're a rock star, you can't keep a tune, or both, you'll find in zambaleta a welcoming environment to become a better musician, meet new friends, and play together. Most of our classes are taught in a group setting - that way you get to meet fellow musicians with similar interests, learn with them, play with them, and pay less money. If you are looking for a more personalized learning experience, our faculty is available to teach private lessons. More importantly, we aspire to create a hospitable place for our musical community.

About The Brass Menazeri

www.brass.menezeri.com

Winner of SF Weekly's 2008 Music Awards in the "Best International Band" category, The Brass Menazeri (pronounced "Menagerie") is the San Francisco Bay Area's Balkan Romani ("Gypsy") powerhouse Brass Band. The Brass Menazeri cascades through the music of the Serbian, Macedonian, Greek & Rajasthani Roma with wild rhythms, soulful vocals & hot improvisations. The energy is infectious - toes tap, bodies slam, sweat flies as vital energy radiates from the dance floor. The Brass Menazeri is a shining example of traditional Balkan repertoire combined with new sensibilities, innovative arrangements & original compositions at the hands & lips of American devotees.

About The Japonize Elephants

www.myspace.com/thejaponizeelephants

Hailing from Zorlock, Land of the Lost (three feet off the ground and to your right) and currently based in San Francisco, The Japonize Elephants is a ten-piece ensemble musically assaulting the world with their unique concoction of hardcore-gypsy-circus-grass-pirate-clown madness. Featuring glockenspiel, junk percussion, and accordion, along with guitar, bass, flute, saxophone, trumpet, fiddle, banjo, and vocals, The Japonize Elephants have traveled the world over the past 14 years, appearing at San Francisco Jazz Festival, Telluride Bluegrass Festival, the High Sierra Music Festival, and NPR's Fresh Air among others.
