Sony Holland Homecoming Celebration
October marks the anniversary of vocalist Sony Holland's return to the Bay Area jazz scene and she is celebrating in style with a concert.
Sony has headlined concerts at many of the premier jazz clubs and festivals in the U.S. and Asia, working with top musicians in every setting from quartet to big band. Her bell-toned voice and stylish delivery wins over fans and critics wherever she goes.
"L.A. was a great experience," she reflects. "When you mention that you come from San Francisco, everyone lights up and says how much they love it." As for the SF/LA rivalry she says it doesn't enter her mind. "I did feel a bit odd singing the anthem at Dodger Stadium, but I love baseball and it is such an honor to sing the Star Spangled Banner. Thankfully, I was invited to sing it for the Giants this season too."
Sony will be joined by Jerry Holland and his great guitar work.
