Afrolicious & Zongo Junction at Tropicalia's 2-Year Anniversary Bash
DC's premier global dancehall Tropicalia celebrates its 2-year anniversary with two of the hardest-hitting afro-funk bands on the planet. Afrolicious is San Francisco based collective who perform live with a ten piece band and a dj duo with live percussionists and MCs. Zongo Junction are a 9-piece psychedelic afrobeat dance band from Brooklyn, NY. If the Talking Heads produced a Fela Kuti record of Sun Ra's music it might sound a bit like Zongo Junction.
Tropicalia's Friday night resident DJs Congo Y Castro will keep the vibe alive as Pura Vibra always brings the world dance heat.
