Existen/They Exist
Esteban Insausti, Cuba, 2005, DV, B&W, 22'
This is Havana today and madness seems to inhabit it. These people 'exist' and because of that, their voices must be heard. What does a mentally ill person think about the world that surrounds him?  What does he think of God, his country's foreign policy, culture and economic growth?

La Pared/The Wall
Alejandro Gil, Cuba, 2006, DV, 90'
Diego decides to isolate himself from reality because he does not understand humanity and his past pains him. He believes people do not have the ability to love and dream. Hence, Diego locks himself in a windowless room where he spends his days, drawing on a wall, a window through which only he can see the other side. This window projects his hopes, his metaphor of reality. Dolz is a specialist who has been treating patients in the same place. The building is condemned because it is about to collapse and all need to evacuate it. Diego, the last patient inside, does not want to leave. Dolz does not consider Diego a mental patient so all must be done to bring back Diego from this state before the building collapses.
