Woodsman, Ancient Ocean & Rosco aka Sterling Roswell
We have a very special evening of psych influenced music for your delectation!
Opening the proceedings we have Sterling Roswell! Also known as Rosco, and a talented multi instrumentalist, Sterling was a member of seminal psych band Spacemen 3, and has been involved in a number of musical projects since, with his most recent being his own band. With a critically acclaimed album as well - The Call Of The Cosmos - which was recently released and showcases his psychedelic sounds, Rosco is an artist you won't want to miss!
We then have the privilege of bringing you a couple of Fire Talk Records finest!
Ancient Ocean is the solo recording project of Louisville native turned Brooklyn resident John Bohannon. A master at wielding molecular guitar tone into rich dense atmosphere, his tunes come out sounding like they were downloaded straight from subconscious brain waves.
Headlining we have Brooklyn-via-Denver trio Woodsman,who are no strangers to the world of Psychedelia. Their music evokes a ruminative, pastoral spirit that is equal parts far-out and approachable. Having made the move from the mountains to the city in 2011, their music allows the listener to exist in both places simultaneously.
We first encountered them when at SXSW in 2011, when after watching APTBS at Cheer Up Charlie's, Chris heard them and was absolutely transfixed by them. We saw them play a tiny bar in front of half a dozen people a couple of days later, and we were hooked! The next time we saw them was at Austin Psych Fest in 2013, and they blew us away. We are honoured to bring them to London for you lucky lot, and hope you enjoy them as much as we do!
