---------------------------------------------------------

Our August double feature presents two wildly divergent stories of two wildly unchecked mavericks, determined to prove they know how to administer justice - no matter how many people they take down with them!

First, when NYPD veteran Don Murray guns down the would-be assailant of a pretty young musician, the city fathers are keen to praise him. But when the girl plans to tell the District Attorney he killed without probable cause, he turns from prince to pariah, and he's ready to use excessive force to change her mind, in the underrated thriller DEADLY HERO, featuring early screen appearances by James Earl Jones, Conchata Ferrell, Treat Williams, Danny DeVito, and an unbilled Deborah Harry, with cinematography by longtime Sidney Lumet D.P. Andrej Bartkowiak, and score by Brad Fiedel (THE TERMINATOR). Actor Don Murray, whose resume spans the '50's to the present, will be appearing IN PERSON to talk about his long career and this controversial role.

Then, when rich criminal industrialist Val Kilmer intercepts a nuclear warhead with the intent to level Washington D.C., only the most decorated and dangerous operative can be summoned from the shadows to stop him, the man with fleet fingers, a foxy sidekick, and a ferocious car stereo: MACGRUBER! Will Forte stars as the deft and daft warrior for America previously featured on "SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE," with Kristin Wiig, Ryan Phillippe, and Powers Booth picking up the pieces of his explosive plans. Power pop superstar Taylor Locke, formerly of the bands Rooney and The Roughs, will be introducing this, one of his favorite films, and as a special bonus, will perform its awesome theme song live!

Please join us on August 27th (and if you miss our presentation, the films will screen again on the 28th, just without guests) for a night of questionable ethics and reckless endangerment!
