Neworld Theatre's Bite of the Underground offers you a window into the diverse talent across the Vancouver cultural community. Here, on one night, you will see and hear a selection of bite-sized performances that will make you laugh, make you tap your feet, make you think, surprise you, and leave you wanting more.
Come and see some of the best of the city currently bubbling just below the surface. The artists you encounter here will change what you imagine can be found, in our city, on any given night.
-Hosted by CBC Debaters star and Just for Laughs Alumni Charlie Demers -Jazz tunes by East Vancouver's fly cats The Carlo Rossi Gang -An excerpt from The Pipeline Project, a new play based on Extract: The Pipeline Wars by -The Vancouver Observer being created by ITSAZOO Productions and Savage Society* -An enchanting ukulele repertoire of Vintage Jazz, Roots, Blues, Folk and Original tunes by Ruby & Smith -Standup by the witty, inventive and deeply dimpled Katie-Ellen Humphries -Marcus Youssef leading a reading of an excerpt from My Name is Rachel Corrie in solidarity with those affected by the Israeli/Palestinian conflict -Traditional and uplifting live mariachi music by Los Dorados
