Course Meets Tuesdays, 6:30-8pm, September 30-November 4
Concert: Thursday, November 6, 7-8:00 (Call time 6:15)
Over the course of six weekly rehearsals and a culminating performance at a top New Orleans music venue, adult musicians of varying degrees of experience are invited to hone their skills in performance, improvisation and music literacy while networking with potential collaborators and passing a good time in a light, supportive atmosphere. Under the direction of acclaimed musician-educator Khari Allen Lee, participants will explore the blues form through familiar styles of the Crescent City soundtrack such as Funk, R&B, Trad and Gospel. Proceeds will benefit Musicollaborative's children's programs to assist in the purchase of new instruments and support the scholarship fund.
Participants must provide their own instruments with the exception of piano and drums which will be available on site.
Because attendance is important for the individual and the ensemble to get the most out of the experience, registrants are asked to commit to all rehearsal dates and the concert performance.
