Soulfege and the Sweet Mother Tour (SMT) 7:30 PM Concert
Soulfege, a group of Harvard educated musicians have launched the Sweet Mother Tour (SMT). SMT is an internationally recognized project that uses the tools of popular culture (music, film, literature, and the internet) to connect young people around the world.
Join the SMT in interactive activities and discussions examining leadership, art for social change, image, the international media industry and the influence of hip-hop culture on youth identity.
"Soulfege" described as "Afro-diasporic groovalicious funkadociousness..." A critically acclaimed underground Pan-African phenomenon fuses Hip-Hop and West African Highlife. Members have worked and performed with such international stars as Bobby McFerrin, Janet Jackson and Steven Spielberg. Soulfege's "Sweet Remix" of the West African classic "Sweet Mother" has aired in over 50 countries via such major outlets as BBC World service, MTV Africa & MNET Africa's Channel-O.
Soulfege is being hosted by the Interra project
