Double Entendre Old & New --The Old Stone House
Double Entendre will perform its new program, Double Entendre Old and New, at the historic Old Stone House located in Washington Park, 3rd St. at 5th Ave. in Brooklyn. The series explores double reed music from the 17th century through the present day. The signature piece is Ænigmata Harmonia: Canon XV in diatessara supra a 6. Composed by Timothy Edwards in the 21st century, it was inspired by the style and technical treatment exhibited in Johann Sebastian Bach's masterful puzzle canons.
The Double Entendre Old and New Series is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.
