Dmitri Matheny Group CD Release
Celebrated for his warm tone, soaring lyricism and masterful technique, Dmitri Matheny was first introduced to jazz audiences in the 1990s as the protégé of Art Farmer. Matheny has since matured into "one of the jazz world's most talented horn players" (SF Chronicle).
Sagebrush Rebellion, Matheny's tenth album as a leader, is scheduled for international release August 9, 2014 on the Papillon/Blue Port Jazz label. The quartet recording showcases new originals, jazz classics by Johnny Burke and Duke Ellington, and favorite works by Charlie Haden, Steve Swallow
and Nat Adderley.
