NECW BIRTHDAY BASH 9
New England Championship Wrestling celebrates its 9th anniversary with a return to the National Guard Armory, 1000 Hancock Street in Quincy, MA on Saturday night August 8th with a 7 PM bell time for BIRTHDAY BASH 9: RAGE IN A CAGE!
The main event will be the long-awaited rematch between NECW Triple Crown Champion, "The Enforcer" Max Bauer and former NECW Heavyweight Champion, "The Golden Greek" Alex Arion with manager Sean Gorman in his corner. The coveted championship will be on the line in a match that will take place inside a steel cage. No feud in NECW history has been more bitter and more intense than this one. In fact, this battle could be so fierce that NECW officials announced a controversial special guest referee for this match in former NECW Triple Crown Champion, D.C. Dillinger.
World Women's Wrestling Champion, "The Portuguese Princess" Ariel takes on former champion, Alexxis Nevaeh who has chased her goal of securing another shot at the title for the past year. Nevaeh knows she may never get another chance to take the red and gold belt and even though the champion's agent, Brendan Michael Thomas will be at ringside, the challenger says she is 100% prepared for this match up.
The NECW Television Championship will be on the line in a return grudge match as Champion, "Superstar" Ryan Matthews squares off with "The Heat" Kris Pyro in a return grudge match. Last month, Pyro was robbed of his opportunity to take the title by Matthews' grandpa, Robbie Ellis. This time Ellis will be banned from the building, evening the odds for the popular Kris Pyro as he turns up the heat on the NECW Television Champion.
NECW Tag Team Champions, The Crown Jewels (Darling Damon & Bad Boy Jason) with "Mr. Fabulous" Tony Ulysses in their corner have signed a return match for the championship with fan favorite, Davey Loomis and Alex Payne. Last month, The Jewels and Ulyssess humiliated Loomis and he is out to even the score with the veteran Alex Payne at his side.
In a special triple threat grudge match, 2009 IRON 8 Champion , Antonio "The Promise" Thomas battles "The Real Deal" Brandon Locke who viciously attacked Thomas after winning this year's IRON 8 Tournament and "The Natural" Scott Osbourne with his controversial manager, the self-proclaimed "Rock God" Brett Adams.
We'll also have a mixed tag team challenge match pitting "Sensational" Scott Levesque and Sammi Lane with Handsome Johnny in their corner against Puerto Rican sensations, Luis Brisbal and Ive.
"The Talent" T.J. Richter with Mr. Munroe in his corner faces "The Upset Kid" Nick Westgate in a return match.
In addition, we will have a live Pat's Pit segment with Pat "The Brat" Piper, a major announcement from NECW officials and more.
