7th Annual Accordion Noir Festival: Squeezebox Confession
International accordion iconoclast Socalled kickstarts the 7th Annual Accordion Noir Festival, headlining "Squeezebox Confession" on Thursday, September 11 at the Fox Cabaret. Mashing together turbo-folk, hip-hop and klezmer funk, Socalled's appearance supports the release of his latest album, The Season, "a puppet-heavy indie musical fable for the 21st century."
The theatrical flair continues with Pathetic Fallacy, a costumed, musical spectacular about love and global warming, featuring a 14-piece chamber rock ensemble led by accordionist and writer Barbara Adler.
Dr. Jack's Jackpot of Cabaret Curios will further unfurl the forces of nature as he presents the first of his "Seven Year Itch" series of tempting cabaret artists throughout the entire festival.
Other performers for this evening will be announced closer to the date.
