The Slick Filling of Aches and Cavities:
The Slick Filling of Aches and Cavities is about sex and food, both of which we, the creators of the piece, are fanatic consumers. This dance operates from the premise that consumption is intimate, that it carries within it the capacity to describe who we are and how we love. And so, we describe driving through McDonalds and slipping one's hand up a skirt as comparable expressions of self.
One Night, The Rain:
Les Manouches, creates original performance work from non dramatic texts using techniques of storytelling & devised theater.
Les Manouches will be performing "One Night, The Rain" a theatrical performance based on the short story "Maria dos Prozeres" by G.G. Marquez. This peice tells the story of Maria, a youthful 70 year old whore from Barcelona. Despite her natural love for life she lives the rest of her days preparing for death, until an encounter which causes her to rediscover the beauty & intesity of desire and is forced to reinterpret the significance of her dreams.
