Suzanna Smith & Rhea Makiaris
What's the Sweet Spot you ask? It's that delicious intersection between jazz, blues, sweet old R&B, country and inspiration!
Rhea is all blues and she plays a mean guitar and a sweet ukulele. Suzanna is jazz, with a secret love of country. But, they both swoon over old rhythm & blues. With two different voices and beautiful harmonies, they'll romp you through a set list that jumps from Hoagy Carmichael to The Beatles, Patsy Cline to Otis Redding, Peggy Lee to Willie Nelson, and then tips a hat at Ray Charles and Aretha, winks at Etta James and Sam Cooke and sneaks up on you with a little Dylan, some originals and a dash of Van Morrison. Then they'll top it all off with a little Chuck Berry and Blossom Dearie for good measure. All that and everything in between the sweet spot indeed.
And there's a great band for the occasion: the ever-inventive Lee Bloom on piano, the dashing Daniel Fabricant on bass and the wonderful Smith Dobson on drums!
Two great singers, having a great time together with a fabulous band = a great night of music.
