An Evening with Roger McGuinn (The Byrds)
Remember 'Mr. Tambourine Man', 'Turn, Turn, Turn' and '8 Miles High'? Then you remember Roger McGuinn. As the former front man for the Byrds and an accomplished singer-songwriter and guitarist, Roger McGuinn is all about traditional music. McGuinn felt a solo career beckoning in 1973 after nearly a decade with the Byrds and has been performing to enthralled audiences ever since.

Arts Northwest is the northwestern USs performing arts consortia supported in part by the Arts Commissions of Washington, Oregon and Idaho, as well as the Western States Arts Federation and the National Endowment for the Arts. It is a membership organization facilitating professional interaction between performing arts presenters, artists, management and arts service providers throughout the Northwestern U.S and Canada. Arts Northwest produces the Annual Northwest Booking Conference, hosts the industry's Virtual Cyber Stages, manages professional development and workshops for the field, produces publications and newsletters, block booking reports, and is central to performing and touring life in the western USA.
As foundation giving has declined and sponsorships have become harder to obtain, Arts Northwest needs to raise funds to bridge gaps, but is committed to doing that in a manner consistent with our mission. The Roger McGuinn concert will allow us to work with one of our member agents, employ an artist, and present a performer of significance and renown to an audience that will appreciate it enormously. Monies raised will fund scholarships for presenters and emerging artists to attend the annual Arts Northwest Booking Conference, participate in professional development opportunities, showcase in front of potential buyers, and otherwise more fully engage in the network represented and facilitated by Arts Northwest.
The PDRC is an integral part of the non profit fabric of Washington States Olympic Peninsula, focusing on peaceful ways to resolve conflict. Their web site opens with the following paragraph: An autumn leaf is very fragile and when storms and wind bat it about the leaf can be easily damaged or broken. A life, tossed about by conflict can also suffer damage and injury. If you feel overwhelmed because of conflict in your life, the Peninsula Dispute Resolution Center can help. Whether you are in a neighborhood dispute, embroiled in a family quarrel or a work related clash, the PDRC can help. If you need to navigate through a new parenting plan or need assistance modifying an existing plan, the PDRC can help. If your business is suffering due to conflict, facilitation or training may be needed. In the current economic climate, demand for the services of the PDRC has almost doubled since the start of the year, as people respond to the pressures of job loss, financial stress and homelessness.
